• Committees
  • Membership in The Real Estate Roundtable entitles members, or their designees, to personally participate in any or all of The Roundtable’s policy advisory committees, which form the backbone of The Roundtable’s policy development process.  Currently, there are four policy advisory committees and one task force (see descriptions below).
  • HSTF - Homeland Security Task Force Roster
    • Comprised of risk managers, senior security and operations executives from the commercial facilities sector's top owners, investors and managers, the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) enhances the real estate industry’s ability to meet its current and future security-related challenges by analyzing developments in the industry's approach to emergency preparedness on physical threats such as terrorism, crime and climate change and on an increasing variety of cyber threats. The Task Force works regularly with various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies as well as agencies within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) community. The Task Force also oversees the work of the Real Estate Information Sharing and Analysis Center (www.reisac.org) — a public-private partnership between the U.S. commercial facilities sector and federal homeland security officials that is managed by The Real Estate Roundtable and supported by ten trade associations. The Task Force meets twice a year in Washington DC in conjunction with the Roundtable's State of the Industry and Annual Meetings; additional meetings are added on an "as-needed" basis.
RECPAC - Real Estate Capital Policy Advisory Committee Roster
    • RECPAC analyzes national public policies that affect the real estate capital and credit markets.  This committee also develops policy recommendations that encourage disciplined lending, foster sensible borrowing and result in adequate liquidity and realistic asset valuations for the industry.
    Research Committee Roster
    • The Research Committee identifies industry trends and tracks economic conditions to provides data that supports The Real Estate Roundtable's public policy agenda.
SPAC - Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee Roster
    • SPAC focuses on a variety of environmentally and economically sustainable development policies that encourage high performance, energy efficient green buildings and progressive land use (e.g. brownfields redevelopment and transit-oriented development).
TPAC - Tax Policy Advisory Committee Roster
    •  TPAC focuses on federal tax law and regulation issues, with a focus on how public policies should reflect the realities of today’s real estate transactions, enable the industry to participate on a level playing field and facilitate economic growth to benefit the national economy.
