Pandemic Risk Insurance Program -- Testimony before Senate Banking Subcommittee
July 21, 2021
The urgent need for Congress to establish a public-private backstop program for pandemic risk insurance -- similar to the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) program enacted the year following the 9/11 attacks -- was the focus of congressional testimony offered by the Business Continuity Coalition (BCC).
The Real Estate Roundtable has been working with the BCC to advance the enactment of a federal pandemic risk insurance program similar to TRIA.
The testimony was offered on July 22, 2021 during the Senate Banking Committee's Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance, and Investment hearing – “Examining Frameworks to Address Future Pandemic Risk."
Testifying on behalf of the BCC was Charles Landgraf (Arnold & Porter).
